Scarlet remembers. Everything. Her past lives, Tristan, Gabriel, Nate: she remembers it all–including how to get to the Fountain of Youth. But time is running out.
Heather and Gabriel have been kidnapped by Raven, while the curse that has plagued Scarlet and Tristan for centuries has shifted, putting the star-crossed lovers in more danger than ever before. Water from the Fountain of Youth is the only thing that can save Scarlet and her loved ones. But the water comes at a price.
With lives–and hearts–at stake, Scarlet leads her friends on a dangerous journey to the Fountain of Youth. Where eternal life is possible, but death is certain.
My opinion:
This book represents the perfect ending for this series. I am so sad it’s over. I want more!!! I am really impressed with this new book by Chelsea Fine. I don’t know why, I should have expected it by now.
I love the fact that the flashbacks continue in this book as well. We get the chance to discover the past and understand better the action of the first book. I think it is great of Chelsea Fine to include these chapters. I am sure that I was not the only one who wondered what happened in Scarlet’s past lives, right?
I am so glad that this books included more Tristan- Scarlet interactions. I waiting for this for so long! They are my favorite couple. They are a perfect example of true love and what people are capable of doing out of love. Nowadays, there a very few who would sacrifice everything for the other person’s happiness. I believe that is very hard to let go when you truly love someone.
We also get to know Nate more. He is definitely my favorite geek:) He’s adorable!!!
I am also glad that despite everything the main characters do not lose hope. They keep fight until the very end. What’s more: I am glad that new friendships are born and new loves are found. I must admit that I didn’t see that coming. I was sure that other two characters would end up together.
Even though by now we know how the book will end it still have some unpredictable parts. This is what makes the book so good. Chelsea Fine is surely a great writer.
I love the cover. I dislike the fact that the biding as a whole makes me thing of a cheap book, a book that wouldn’t attract my attention in a bookstore. This is very unfortunate. I really want the book to sell because is very good.
Favorite quotes:
…He just rang the doorbell. Like a dead mailman,” Nate said.
Tristan made a face. “And you answered it?”
“Well, yeah. How was I supposed to know it was an Ashman?”
“I don’t know, the peephole maybe? What’s on the paper?”
Nate chewed on his lip. “I’m half afraid he’s going to start singing and do a jig if we take it from him. Like a really creepy singing telegram.”
Tristan snatched the paper…The next morning, Gabriel stared at Nate. “What are you wearing?”
Everyone rushed around the campsite, packing up and getting ready for their hike to the Bluestone caves.
Nate looked down at his outfit. “Adventure attire.”
“You look like Indiana Jones.”
“Exactly—ooh! I need my whip.” Nate rushed over to his backpack just as Heather exited the tent.
From me: 5/5
